What items are accepted?

If you're unsure whether your item is accepted, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Commission Rate?
30% - no additional seller fees on items delivered to us. An extra charge will be added if you would like us to pick up/haul your items. Please see, "Can Central Iowa Exchange Pick Up/Haul My Items?

10% - Vehicles, Tractors, Lawnmowers, Trailers, Implements, etc.
​How & When Will I Be Paid?
Checks will be mailed in 2-3 business days.
When Can I Bring My Items?
Consignments must be dropped off at least one day before the sale.

You can drop off your items any day. Just ​​contact us to make arrangements.
Can Central Iowa Exchange Pickup/Haul My Items?
We would be happy to help you with pickup if needed within a 20 mile radius for an additional fee.
The additional fee will be determined by miles, the type of items being picked up, and if additional help is needed.
Can Central Iowa Exchange Hold An Auction At My Location?
We would be more than happy to accommodate you.

​What If My Items Don't Sell?
​Any items not sold will be brought to the landfill or Goodwill the following day. If you want to keep any unsold items you need to claim them immediately after the auction.

If you choose to leave your items after the auction, a small disposal fee will be deducted from your check. The price of this fee will be determined according to amount of items left behind. More items mean a higher fee.

Buyers

When Can I Preview the Items?
You can preview the items 2 hours before the start of the auction.
​Can I Bid Over The Phone?
​Yes

Phone bidding must be set up before noon on Friday. Your credit card information will be needed for this process so please have it on hand.

When leaving a phone bid, you can either leave your highest bid and we can bid for you or we can call you when the item is being sold so you can bid as its selling.

If you purchase an item, we will be more than happy to work with you on pick up arrangements within the next day or two.

​​How Do I Pay For My Items?
Payment will be taken at the front office.

Accepted forms of payment:
  • Cash
  • Debit/Credit card.
  • Local check (with bank approval, either brought to the sale or sent before)

5% convenience fee on all purchases with a 5% discount to cash or approved check.
